Watch out for pure Android version of HTC One soon

Beleaguered smartphone maker HTC may be launching a pure Google edition of its high-end smartphone HTC One as early as the next few weeks. CNET reported that the smartphone maker could have its flagship phone with a stock Android operating system and would not feature its Sense user interface for which it is known. The exact timing of the launch is unknown but the phone is expected to be launched “in summer”, the report quoted an unnamed source as saying. The report said that HTC decision to offer an alternative to its Sense interface, despite it being the only feature that set it apart from other Android phones, was taken after Samsung decided to launch a version of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S4 with pure  Android operating system. The pure Nexus Samsung Galaxy S4 will hit Google Play Store on 26 June for US users only and will get updates regularly. The smartphone however costs $649, which is a very high priced. The HTC One currently ships with a strongly modified version of the Google’s Android. For instance the homepage has BlinkFeed, a news and social media update aggregator that sorts of looks like Flipboard. While the news of a stock Android HTC One is great, the smartphone has been facing some serious supply issues. The phone was launched in India in April ahead of the S4 for Rs 42,900 but it only appeared  in online stores in mid-May .
