Google has arguably come out with its best animated doodle in a while. (After perhaps the animated Olympic sports and right up there with the Pacman doodle) And although we don’t celebrate halloween in India, it’s hard not to get caught up in the fun of witches brews, coffins, spider webs and mummies. Who doesn’t enjoy a good dose of the supernatural? [caption id=“attachment_1203599” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] The Google doodle[/caption] So while you may not be going trick or treating, you can certainly have a lot of fun playing with the doodle. The doodle starts with a hook nosed, green skinned witch seriously perusing the pages of a massive spell book. The scene then cuts to her stirring a cauldron with four ingredients visible on the sides - a bone, an apple, a skull and a mysterious purple potion. You are expected to add any two ingredients into the pot to make a spell. Each combination yields a different result - from pumpkins that light up as you mouse over them, to a series of weird zombie hands popping out of holes in the ground. Click on the doodle when you’re done (it takes a while to even get there, we’ll admit), and it takes you to the usual Google ‘information’ box that we’re all so used to. And today the information box is about the ‘witch’. No usual Wikipedia info here though. The facts in the box range from how to avoid witches (Don’t eat red apples from strangers; hide if you see a flock of flying monkeys) and how to defeat them (Throw a pail of water) As a special bonus, here’s a YouTube video that shows you to make yourself up like a witch. Even if not halloween, it could come in handy for the next fancy dress party you go to!
