Google Pixel 10a is set to debut in India today , i.e. February 18, with pre-orders beginning immediately after. The new Pixel 10a succeeds last year’s popular Pixel 9a and brings modest upgrades while keeping a competitive price tag for consumers in the sub-Rs 50,000 segment.

Google Pixel 10a launch: Timeline and pre-orders

Google will officially launch the Pixel 10a in India at 8 pm IST today, with simultaneous global availability confirmed for the same date and time. The smartphone will be offered through multiple channels, including Flipkart, the Google Store and other leading retailers across the country.

In India, early price leaks suggest the base model (8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage) could start at around Rs 49,990, positioning the device fairly aggressively against rivals in its class. A higher storage variant may cost more depending on configuration and retailer pricing.

Google Pixel 10a: What to expect

Although Google has kept many details under wraps ahead of the launch, leaks and reports have outlined a clear picture of what to anticipate from the Pixel 10a. The phone is widely expected to carry a 6.3-inch P-OLED display with a 1080×2424 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, providing smooth visuals that are competitive at this price point.

Under the hood, the Pixel 10a is tipped to run on a Tensor G4 chipset paired with 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB. Using an older chipset has raised eyebrows, but it is yet to see how will it perform in the reality.

Battery capacity remains similar to its predecessor, with a 5,100mAh cell reported, but charging speeds are expected to improve with support for up to 45 W wired charging. The handset also features Gorilla Glass 7i protection for added durability and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Photography continues to be a strength for Pixel phones. The Pixel 10a is expected to sport a 48 MP main rear camera and a 13MP ultrawide sensor, paired with a 13MP front-facing camera. Google’s computational photography software is likely to enhance image quality, consistent with what we’ve seen from earlier Pixel models.

On the software front, the device will ship with Android 16 and is expected to come with a seven-year update promise, ensuring long-term support for both the operating system and security patches.

Design elements appear to borrow from both the Pixel 9a and the wider Pixel 10 family, with a familiar flat camera bar and a minimal aesthetic that aligns with Google’s current design language. Colour options are anticipated to include Obsidian, Fog, Lavender and Berry finishes.
