RIM’s trying hard to woo customers this Diwali season. It seems that the BlackBerry maker is offering free BlackBerry Messaging for users who purchase the Curve 9220 and Curve 9320 smartphones between 9 Nov and 9 December this year. According to an NDTV report,
for Vodafone subscribers the services will start within 48 hours of inserting the SIM in the smartphone while Airtel users will have to send SMS to 543210 with the message ‘BBM’ to activate their free service. BlackBerry Messenger plans currently offered by telecom companies start at Rs 129 per month. [caption id=“attachment_520952” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]

RIM’s next range of devices, BlackBerry 10 is expected to be launched in 10 March and unlike older BB devices these will see a completely new OS. The new devices will be fully-touchscreen and RIM will definitely be saying goodbye to the QWERTY keyboard. The Curve 9220 is available for Rs 11,699 on
Flipkart
, although you can get it for
Rs 10,199 online on sites such as Tradus, etc.
The BlackBerry Curve 9320 is available for Rs 15,500 online.
