The 10 games and bundles you need to pick up in this year's Steam Summer Sale

The Steam Summer Sale has just entered its final hours. As the clock counts down to one of the biggest video game sales of the year, here are 10 games and bundles that you really must grab before time runs out. Tomorrow will be too late. Valve, complete pack: Rs 1,077 Rs 1,000 might seem like a high price for games on sale, but the Valve complete pack isn’t just a game on sale, it’s every single one of Valve’s games in one bundle. The bundle includes everything, Team Fortress, Half-Life, Portal, Day of Defeat, Counter-Strike, everything. Literally everything. All told, you’re getting an 85 percent discount on the prices of the games. Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor: Rs 247 Whether you’re a Lord of the Rings fan or not, you really should be playing Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor. The game is an interesting mix of Assassin’s Creed and Batman: Arkham City. It also tells a great tale and tells it well. If you haven’t played the game yet, you can pick it up for a measly Rs 247. BioShock Triple Pack: Rs 525 BioShock set the bar for story-telling and atmosphere in games. It was a technological achievement at the time of its launch and still is a gorgeous looking game today. It doesn’t hurt that 2K games, the developer, is also working on releasing an enhanced edition of the game with refined visuals. Get the pack for Rs 525 and save on the Rs 4,000 that the enhanced edition will cost. You’ll get the enhancements for free anyway. Far Cry 4: Rs 249 Far Cry 4 is still one of the prettiest looking games on PC. The fact that you can get it for Rs 249 must be a crime of some sort because the game is worth so much more. This open-world game demands a powerful PC and I guarantee it’ll take full advantage of it. It doesn’t hurt that the gameplay is also stellar. Metro Redux bundle: Rs 182 Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are games made by the same developer who gave us the suitably chilling and atmospheric S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. The Redux editions of those games took the already great visuals of those games and put them into overdrive. So much so that these games bring many of today’s PCs to their kneed. Why wouldn’t you pay Rs 182 for that? Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light: Rs 92 It might be my own personal bias, but I feel that the current Tomb Raider reboot, and its prequel, are too pretentious to be worth calling true Tomb Raider games. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is an isometric platformer that does exactly what the rebooted games don’t. It’s Lara Croft at her best and the game is packed with interesting puzzles, great combat and excellent platforming. Alien: Isolation: Rs 247 When I was young, Alien was the most terrifying game I’d ever seen. Alien: Isolation brings back the terror of that franchise with the most believable and terrifying alien yet. The fact that the game is selling for less than the price of a medium pizza is just surreal. Mafia II Digital Deluxe Edition: Rs 212 Hands down, Mafia: The city of lost heaven is the most compelling Mafia story this side of the Godfather books (the movies pale in comparison to the books). Mafia II would take a close second place. If you have fond memories of the original game or are just generally a fan of the Mafiosi, the Digital Deluxe Edition of Mafia II is exactly what you need. Hitman: Absolution: Rs 141 This one’s for fans of the Hitman franchise (not those terrible, awful, horrendously bad movies). Absolution takes the franchise down a path it’s never travelled before, but it’s one that’s worth exploring. Just Cause 2: Rs 119 GTA offered a realistic open-world game, Saints Row offered a cartoony one. Just Cause walks the fine line between the two games with aplomb and remains, in my book, one of the best, most fun open-world games available today. It’s even better than its sequel. What’s not to like?
