Rocket League just announced dates for a free Hoops Update, to go live on 26 April. The hoops update adds a basketball arena to the game, that currently has football and hokey modes. Unlike the other two sports though, which require horizontal shooting, the Hoops update is going to add a lot of verticality to the gameplay. For those worried about the difficulty or accuracy, it is a fairly large hoop.

There is a new arena, which unfortunately will only allow for 2v2 games when the update lands. The basketball arena apparently even has a squeaky floor, just like real courts. The Hoops update will be available on 26th April on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam. Apart from the new mode, there is an official NBA flag pack available, which allows you to add flags of your favorite basketball team on the antenna of your cars. This DLC costs $1.99. All players who patch their game will receive by default, an NBA flag for free.
