PAX East 2016 : Mafia 3 to feature an open world, multiple endings and a great soundtrack

Developers, Hangar 13, announced new information about the highly anticipated Mafia 3 title in a panel discussion at PAX east. Mafiagame.info, a fan site for the Mafia series has video of the panel discussion. Released trailers of the game use the popular 60s songs, “House of the Rising Sun” and “All Along the Watchtower.” At PAX, the developers announced that the game soundtrack would include more songs from that era. The developers are in the process of getting licenses for more songs, but “Son of a Preacher Man” and “Paint it Black” are already in the game. These tracks will be available on a vinyl record for those who purchase the collector’s edition of the game. Another big announcement was the inclusion of a wide range of cars in the game. There are going to be muscle cars, jeeps and military vehicles. Each vehicle has its own special abilities. The studio also discussed how they settled on the location, an in-universe version of New Orleans known as New Bordeaux. The location was settled on after considering the needs of the missions in the game, which included industry, tourism and entertainment quests. The developers revealed the branching storyline, with player choices having a big impact on the story. This is not black and white, positive or negative choice storyline, instead the effects will be different for choosing between two positive approaches, or two negative approaches. The game will release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in October this year. There will be three versions, the basic, deluxe and collector’s editions. The editions will offer different tiers of additional downloadable content.
