NMS Ally is a companion App for the Indie game No Man’s Sky, that is available even before the game has launched. The companion app is designed to help players demystify the vast game with deep gameplay mechanics. The app already has 5000 to 10000 installs on the Play Store. NMS Ally has a community feature, where screenshots from the game can be shared. The photos can be uploaded directly from the PlayStation, for those who use that console. The app helps out with naming creatures and planets by generating unique names for them. The app crowd sources information on which elements are available where, with a journal where players can record the points where they obtained a particular element. Community discoveries can be commented on. NMS Ally is a free app, but those who want to support the developer can opt for the pro mode. The current version of the companion app is live on Google Play , and an older version is available on the App Store . An updated version of the app for iOS is being processed by Apple. The game is expected to launch on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC next week. Some players are already playing the game though . Harry Denholm, who codes for Hello Games, the makers of No Man’s Sky has assured players that everyone will start at the same point when the game officially launches, as the servers are going to be wiped just before launch. Also, there will apparently be a Kotaku planet. https://twitter.com/HarryDenholm/status/761669788380921856
