Nintendo is bringing back classic console gaming in a miniaturized box called the NES Classic Edition. This is peak nostalgia. There will not be software updates, and the console will not connect to the internet. There is no advanced functionality, but the whole thing is a self contained box. The most high tech inclusion is the ability to connect to a TV with an HDMI cable.

The console is plug and play. The gaming console will not support cartridges, although the design includes features that look like a cartridge slot. Instead, all the games will be pre-loaded into the game. There are 30 games included, with Super Mario Bros, Metroid, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby’s Adventure in the list. As the device does not have any slot for cartridges, or net connectivity, there will not be more games available for this device apart from the ones that come out of the box. The best thing included in the box is a full sized original NES classic controller. The controller can also be used with NES Virtual Console games, or the Wii and the Wii U.
For those who want to play multiplayer titles with friends, the Classic Controller is available separately, as well as a Classic Controller Pro. The classic controller will be available for $9.99 (Rs. 668). The console will be available from 11 November for $59.99 (Rs. 4012). The console and controllers will be available in online and physical stores.
