Nintendo on 26 June, 2017 announced that it will be releasing a Super NES Classic equivalent in Japan by the name of Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom. This product is based on the design of the original system but with a little bit of tweaking in the selection of games. The Super NES Classic equivalent is the mini version of the 16-bit Nintendo console and comes with 21 built-in games, claimed the company.
The Japanese release of the Nintendo Classic Mini Super Famicom includes Ganbare Goemon: Yukihime Kyūshutsu Emaki (aka Legend of the Mystical Ninja); Panel de Pon, which came stateside as Tetris Attack; Super Formation Soccer (aka Super Soccer); and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem.
However, the Super Famicon will have the following games from the US model — Panel de Pon, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, Ganbare Goemon: The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Super Soccer, and Super Street Fighter II. These titles replace EarthBound, Kirby’s Dream Course, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Castlevania IV, and Super Punch-Out .
The mini Super Famicom will cost 7,980 yen which is approximately $71 and is slated for a release on 5 October, 2017.
