Lenovo has just announced its new gaming brand Legion for the Indian market.

Lenovo announces 'Legion' gaming brand in India, launches Y520 and Y720 gaming laptops

Lenovo has just announced its new gaming brand Legion for the Indian market. According to the company the new gaming brand is the outcome of building and listening to a global community of gamers to better understand what they need and value the most. The company also announced its first two products under the brand which included the Y520 and the Y720. Bhaskar Choudhuri, Marketing Director, Lenovo India said, “We are extremely excited to bring the Legion brand to our fast-growing community of Indian gamers. Gaming continues to be our strategic focus area and the new brand further enhances the Y series portfolio in India. The new Lenovo Legion laptops address every gamer’s demand for a superior and immersive experience with VR and outstanding audio capabilities.” The Legion Y520 has an aluminum-brushed body and weighs less than 2.5 kgs. It can be configured to a 7th-generation Intel Core i7 with 16 GB of RAM expandable to up to 32 GB. For storage there is a 1 TB hard drive with a 128 GB SSD combo. It also features 2 x 2W Harman speakers and Dolby Audio Premium. For graphics you get an Nvidia GeForce 1050 4 GB DDR5 card. ![ideapad-y520-gallery02](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/ideapad-y520-gallery02-e1495177529223.jpg) The Legion Y720 is the world’s first Dolby Atmos Windows based PC and features NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. It is also one of the first Oculus certified VR-ready machine. Just like the Y520, this one can be configured with a a 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processorwith 16 GB RAM.  It also features an HDMI port, a Thunderbolt 3 port and an optional RGB backlit keyboard. There is an option for an integrated Xbox One Wireless receiver as well which can support up to four controllers simultaneously. Both the Y520 and Y720 feature a 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel and run on Windows 10. Gamers can easily customize settings such as audio, active keys, cooling, and network priority. Lenovo Nerve Sense allows them to record highlights for replaying or uploading to streaming sites. The laptops have been designed with optimized thermal engineering to combat heat even during the most resource-intensive gaming session. The engineered fans and vents are strategically located close to the graphics card and processors to keep hot air moving while the rear-placed thermal vents remove that heat. The Extreme Cooling shortcut within Lenovo Nerve Sense can be used for gaming firefights that require an additional push of cooling. As part of the Legion gaming kit, gamers get a Y gaming armoured backpack to enjoy mobile gaming wherever they go. The Y gaming optical mouse and Y gaming stereo headset are also available at an additional cost.

The Y520 range starts at Rs 92,490 while the  Y720 starts at Rs 149,990.
