Adarsh K Menon, Vice President, Electronics and Auto, Flipkart said that the gaming segment in India is a fast evolving segment. He added that the reason for Flipkart’s interest in gaming is due to a “0% growth in this category in the last six months” that they’ve witnessed.

They hope to engage at least a 1,000 gamers through this competition. “Our goal is to become the largest destination for both gamers as well as gaming product brands and also contribute towards developing the Indian gaming ecosystem. Brands like Alienware, Dell, Sony and Microsoft are already witnessing tremendous growth on our platform in their Gaming portfolio and we expect this demand to double in the next six months,” adds Adarsh.

Prizes will be in the form of gift vouchers. Winners of FIFA will receive Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 for first, second and third places respectively. Winning teams from the other games will receive Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 for the first and second places respectively.
