Everything we know about Bethesda Softwork's Elder Scrolls VI

Bethesda Softwork's Elder Scroll series may not have a new title announcement this E3, but Skyrim may come to Xbox One.

Last week we posted an analysis of Elder Scrolls release titles that pointed to a 2017 announcement. The Elder Scrolls games are released roughly four years apart, not considering the earliest games in the franchise. This puts the release date at 2019.

However, because of the immense popularity of the open world fantasy role-playing-game series, interest in the title refuses to die. The games are mod friendly, encourage community made content and has a never-ending play time considering all the character path options and the various mutating storylines that are different in every play through. Elder Scrolls VI is being viewed by the developers and the community as Skyrim II, a continuation of the story elements introduced in Skyrim. This video has some insider information, some speculation, and is a good summation of everything known about the next Elder Scrolls title.

There was a little new information available. Eagle-eyed gaming enthusiasts noticed a job listing, which is no longer available now, that seemed to offer a position on the team developing the next Elder Scrolls game. Some more speculation on expected E3 announcements by Bethesda has emerged as well. While the launch of a new Elder Scrolls title is not expected, there is a glimmer of hope for a Skyrim-related announcement. Considering the popularity on the Xbox 360, as well as Bethesda Softworks' close relationship with Microsoft, Yibida says it is surprising that Skyrim is not already released for the Xbox One.
