Civilisation VI is launching for Windows on October 21, 2016. There are a bunch of new additions and changes to get excited about. There are some substantial improvements, and features that fans have been asking for a while now. Civilisation VI is going to be built ground up as a new game. The game looks gorgeous, but here are the details on the other changes. Unstacking Cities: Unstacking armies in Civilisation V was well received, and the cities are getting the same treatment in this edition. This allows for a granular integration with specifics to the environment in each tile, as well as more organic growth for cities. The buildings are no longer in one big stack, and this has cleaned up the city interface quite a bit. The surrounding tiles, and the environment affects what can or should be constructed in each tile. Because of these changes, the build order now matters. Visually, the cities look more diverse, and the growth of each city is unique. Aggressive players can choose to take down city infrastructure by targeting specific tiles before going in for a city.

Roosevelt’s America: America is going to be led by Theodore Roosevelt. The Americans get a bunch of special units. These include the P-51 Mustang, which has greater range than other fighter planes in the game. There are the rough rider cavalry units, which Theodore Roosevelt used in the Spanish-American war. American fighters get a bonus for fighting on home ground. There is a film studio unique building that boosts tourism, which helps with a cultural victory for America.

Envoys and City States: City States were a new addition to Civlisation V, and they have been updated with new quests for Civilisation VI. These are cities, that can behave like countries on their own. They open up more options for diplomacy. Users can send envoys to city states, unlock quests, which gives you more envoys to the city state, which opens up more quests and rewards. Doing this repeatedly builds a relationship with that city state. It also increases the influence over the city states. Emissaries can be used to earn influence, and with enough influence, players can become get Suzerainty over city states. This ensures special bonuses, and the allegiance of the city state during times of war. It also allows troops of that city to be purchased for gold for a short period of time. https://twitter.com/CivGame/status/743926741857501185 Tech trees: The technology tree has a eureka system now that allows users to get research credits, or a portion of the science needed to complete the research. Eureka movements are additional quests that can be completed optionally, for these benefits. Irrigation research gets boosted when players farm a resource, meeting another civilization puts writing research on fast track and building a quarry speeds up masonry research. The tech tree is smaller now, because a bunch of branches have been moved to the Civics tree. The Civics tree are like a parallel tech tree, and also have the Eureka moments. This conveniently removes tech tree branches that were not really technology, an example being chivalry. Civilisation VI can be pre-ordered on Steam here. The base game is available for Rs. 2,499 and the digital deluxe version for 3,299.
