The
**Mercedes-AMG** Project One hypercar has been talked about for a while now as the car is finally edging towards its formal unveiling. The plug-in hypercar will be revealed later at the Frankfurt Motor Show but before the wraps finally came off, the manufacturer revealed a final teaser of the car. **Project One hypercar** will be unveiled as part of AMG 50th Anniversary celebrations of AMG and will feature a Formula 1 derived powertrain beneath. The new teaser as
reported by Overdrive reveals the back of the hypercar giving us a clearer look of the central exhaust and the ‘One’ branding above it. The 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine which is supposed to power the car is said to be the same as the one used by Mercedes-AMG on their F1 car. The front wheels also house two electric motors on its front wheels to transform the hypercar into an all-wheel drive car.The two electric motors along with an additional two, one paired with the turbocharger and the other connected to the crankshaft will draw power from a lithium-ion battery.

As **reported earlier** , the Project One will be capable of about 750 bhp without taking the front electric motors into account, spinning up to 11,000 rpm. The resulting output is said to exceed 1000 hp, putting it almost into Bugatti Chinron territory. What makes the Project One unique though is that the total power achieved behind the wheels is done with a thermal efficiency of 43 percent. Mercedes-AMG will make only 275 units of the Project One with a price tag of what Overdrive believes to be approximate $2.73 million.
