Facebook suffers global outage: Some users unable to update status

Facebook  today suffered a system outage that is preventing people from posting status updates. But now reports are coming in that the site’s problems have been fixed. Several people have reported seeing an error message when they attempt to update their status, saying: “There was a problem updating your status. Please try again in a few minutes.” Firstpost was experiencing similar problems too. [caption id=“attachment_1185235” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Facebook logo. AFP image Facebook logo. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.” The problem was ongoing for the duration of Monday evening. According to the Wall Street Journal when using the iPhone app, “A status message appeared to go through — no error message — but ultimately it never published. By 10:30 a.m. ET, it appeared access was being restored.” Some Facebook users took to Twitter to vent their anger, as well as some good humour. https://twitter.com/randomcards/status/392284789614452737 https://twitter.com/PerkatPlay/status/392272441050800128 https://twitter.com/robinhaislett/status/392319050967048193
