NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has some advice for anyone looking to stay ahead in today’s fast-evolving world of technology: get yourself an AI tutor.

In a recent interview with Cleo Abram, Huang shared his belief that AI educators are the future of learning, empowering individuals to unlock their full potential. He sees this shift as key to a new workforce model where humans are not replaced by machines, but rather enhanced by them.

AI as the ultimate learning companion

Huang explained that AI-powered tutors can provide accessible learning across a wide range of subjects, catering to individual learning styles and needs. With AI’s ability to break down complex topics and present them in tailored ways, Huang believes these digital educators can make knowledge more accessible to everyone. He mentioned tools like Grok and ChatGPT as examples of AI that can assist with everything from programming to writing and problem-solving, offering a personal tutor experience at the touch of a button.

Huang, who himself uses AI in his day-to-day work, pointed out that the knowledge barriers in various fields have been significantly reduced. He said having an AI tutor with him constantly gives him an edge in staying informed and learning new things. He encouraged others to embrace this technology, believing it would empower them to accomplish more and feel confident in their ability to tackle challenges.

AI won’t be a job killer, says Huang

Despite growing concerns about AI taking over human jobs, Huang remains confident that AI will not replace people, but rather enhance their capabilities. He shared his own experience at NVIDIA, surrounded by a team of brilliant minds and advanced AI systems, yet he has never felt that his role is threatened. Instead, he views AI as a tool that empowers humans, helping them to work smarter and more efficiently.

Rather than fearing AI, Huang sees it as a superpower that makes people more confident and capable. He emphasized that AI allows individuals to pursue more ambitious goals, helping them grow in their careers and personal lives. He believes that, with the right mindset, AI will make people feel more empowered and confident, rather than threatened.

Addressing concerns about AI replacing jobs

Although Huang remains optimistic about AI’s role in the future, many workers, particularly in the US, are still concerned about job displacement. According to a 2023 survey by Fortune, around 40 per cent of workers familiar with AI tools like ChatGPT fear they could be replaced by such technologies. Younger workers, especially Gen Z, are even more anxious, with 62 per cent believing AI could take over their jobs in the next decade.

Huang acknowledges these concerns but remains steadfast in his belief that AI will not be the job killer that some fear. Instead, he envisions a future where humans work alongside AI, using the technology to amplify their own abilities. For Huang, the key is to view AI as an enabler of human potential, not a competitor. As AI continues to advance, it will become an essential tool for learning and working, ensuring that those who embrace it will be empowered to thrive in the future workforce.
