If you’ve ever wished you could talk to Elon Musk’s AI chatbot in Hindi or Bengali, this might be your chance to make it happen.

Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI has opened applications for native language speakers to help train its conversational AI, Grok, to understand and speak more naturally in multiple languages, including two major Indian ones.

And the best part? You don’t need any experience in coding or AI to apply.

The job posting was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Ayush Jaiswal, who announced that xAI is “hiring native language speakers to mentor Grok.” According to his post, the company is currently looking for fluent speakers of Russian, Arabic, Mandarin, Indonesian, Hindi, and Bengali.

🚨 We're hiring native language speakers to mentor Grok

Helping AI to learn our language better is a very fulfilling thing to do. We're currently looking to onboard native speakers of the following languages:

→ Russian
→ Arabic
→ Mandarin
→ Indonesian
→ Hindi
→ Bengali…

— Ayush Jaiswal (@ayushjaiswal) January 17, 2026

Helping Grok learn your language, Jaiswal says, is “one of the most incredible ways to learn about AI,” adding that it will help the chatbot “sound like your neighbour.” Applicants can sign up using a simple online form, no technical background required.

How to apply

Applying to work with xAI and help train Grok is simple. The company has shared an online Typeform link where interested applicants can register.

To apply, visit the xAI Multilingual Tutor Interest Form linked in X post. Once there, you’ll need to fill in basic details such as your name, language proficiency, and contact information.

According to the post, selected applicants will get the opportunity to “mentor Grok,” helping the AI model learn the nuances, tone, and expressions of native conversation.

Grok wants to sound local

For those unfamiliar, Grok is Elon Musk’s answer to ChatGPT, developed by his company xAI and integrated directly into X. It’s designed to respond with personality, wit, and what Musk calls “a bit of humour.” But now, it seems Musk wants Grok to not just sound smart, but also sound local.

The move marks an expansion of Grok’s linguistic capabilities as xAI races to catch up with rivals like OpenAI and Google DeepMind, both of which have recently rolled out multilingual features for their chatbots.

By recruiting native speakers, xAI aims to teach Grok cultural nuances, natural phrasing, and idiomatic expressions, the sort of subtleties that make human conversations authentic.

It’s also a clever way for Musk to bring regional diversity to his AI ecosystem. With over a billion speakers combined, Hindi and Bengali represent two of the most widely spoken languages in the world.

So, if you’re fluent in Hindi or Bengali, and you’ve ever wanted to teach an AI how to talk like your friend from Kolkata or your cousin from Delhi, this might be your shot.
