AMD made waves at CES 2025 with a series of groundbreaking announcements across consumer, gaming, and commercial segments. From powerful AI-enabled PCs to cutting-edge gaming hardware and a strategic partnership with Dell, AMD showcased its commitment to redefining computing experiences for users worldwide.

AMD’s expanded portfolio of AI PC processors sets a new benchmark for performance. The Ryzen AI Max Series, designed for premium thin and light notebooks, leads the charge with up to 16 “Zen 5” CPU cores, 40 AMD RDNA 3.5 graphics compute units, and an AMD XDNA 2 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) offering up to 50 TOPS of AI performance. Models such as the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and Ryzen AI Max 390 promise workstation-level power in portable devices.

Complementing this lineup are the Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, including the Ryzen AI 7 350 and Ryzen AI 5 340, which offer enhanced AI capabilities for mainstream notebooks. These processors boast up to eight CPU cores and AMD XDNA 2 technology for five times the AI performance of previous generations, making them ideal for AI-driven tasks like Microsoft Copilot+ experiences.

AMD didn’t forget everyday users either. The Ryzen 200 Series, including models like the Ryzen 9 270 and Ryzen 5 240, brings AI capabilities to essential applications, ensuring balanced performance and efficiency for day-to-day productivity. Systems powered by these processors are set to launch throughout 2025.    

Gaming Hits New Highs with Ryzen    

For gamers and creators, AMD’s new processors promise unmatched performance. The Ryzen 9950X3D and Ryzen 9900X3D, powered by second-generation 3D V-Cache technology, are set to become must-haves for desktop enthusiasts. With up to 16 cores and 144 MB of cache, these processors deliver higher clock speeds and lower temperatures, ensuring peak performance for demanding gaming and content creation tasks.    

In the handheld gaming space, the Ryzen Z2 Series, including the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, redefines portable gaming with up to eight “Zen 5” cores and RDNA 3.5 graphics.
