BlackBerry’s Q10 with a touchscreen and Qwerty keyboard is up for pre-order in United Kingdom. The delivery of the device will begin by April end according to the Carphone Warehouse website which is taking pre-orders. According a
blogpost by BlackBerry
, Today, Carphone Warehouse customers in the United Kingdom will be able to pre-order the BlackBerry Q10 on O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Three, EE and TalkMobile. Plus, the handset will be available for purchase in Carphone Warehouse stores from the end of April. For those of you in other markets, we’ll have details on availability to follow soon. So much does the phone cost? Well for a SIM free device, the cost is a whopping £579.95, which is nearly Rs 48,600 when converted. That’s more than the cost of the BlackBerry Z10, mind you. pointed out in an earlier article on Firstpost
where he talked about mid-tier BlackBerry 10 smartphones, With the Z10 prohibitively priced at over Rs 43,490 in India and the Q10 also seen as a premium smartphone (the Q10 is the successor to the Bold 9900 which was BlackBerry’s flagship till the Z10 was launched)… So yes don’t expect this one to cost Rs 15,000. The Q10 however should come to India soon and will hopefully be out by April or early May. Remember the Z10 was launched in India on 25 February, in less than a month after the device was revealed. Key features of BlackBerry Q10 are: It has a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard. It comes with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM and 16GB mass memory, expandable to 64GB via micro-SD slot. The device will support LTE. It has an eight-megapixel rear camera and a front facing camera as well.
