Lamborghini has introduced the all-new Urus SE, a plug-in hybrid performance SUV, in India, with a starting price of Rs 4.57 crore (ex-showroom).
As Lamborghini’s latest high-performance hybrid, the Urus SE blends impressive power with eco-friendly technology. It features a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor, boasting a total output of 800hp and 950Nm of torque, and a top speed of 312kph.
The Exterior
The Urus SE retains the familiar sleek silhouette of the Urus S but incorporates minor design tweaks.
The most noticeable changes are at the front, where the C-shaped LED DRLs replace the signature Y-shaped lights, and the bonnet has been redesigned, omitting the air scoops found on other models. The grille and front bumper have also been updated for a refreshed look.
On the side, the new alloy wheels, available in sizes from 21 to 23 inches, are a standout feature. The rear gets a refreshed bumper and diffuser, and a hexagonal mesh pattern inspired by the Lamborghini Gallardo. This design adjustment isn’t just for aesthetics—it reportedly boosts high-speed downforce by 35 percent over the Urus S.
The Interior
Inside, the Urus SE offers a more luxurious and tech-forward experience. The dashboard has received a three-dimensional redesign, along with revised air vents and new seats. The most significant update is the larger 12.3-inch central touchscreen (up from the previous 10.1-inch), running the latest software seen in the Lamborghini Revuelto.
Lamborghini offers a wide range of customisation options for the Urus SE, with over 100 exterior colour choices and 47 interior finishes through the Ad Personam programme.
The Powertrain
The Urus SE is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 620hp and 800Nm of torque on its own, but when combined with the 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the total system output reaches 800hp and 950Nm. The electric motor is integrated into the 8-speed automatic gearbox, enabling an all-electric range of 60km and speeds of up to 130kph before the petrol engine kicks in. Lamborghini claims the Urus SE can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 3.4 seconds.
This hybrid SUV is also equipped with four-wheel drive, even in EV mode. For added versatility, the Urus SE includes 10 driving modes, including road, track, and off-road settings. Notably, there are four new modes: EV Drive, Hybrid, Recharge, and Performance, allowing drivers to optimize both battery use and vehicle performance.
Advanced Driving Features
The Urus SE comes with advanced suspension technology, including air suspension and a 48V anti-roll bar to enhance stability and control. It also features an electronic limited-slip rear differential, providing improved handling in various driving conditions.
With this launch, Lamborghini is pushing the boundaries of hybrid performance, blending luxury, power, and eco-friendly features in a stunning package. The Urus SE is positioned as a significant player in the high-performance SUV segment, particularly with its focus on both on-road and off-road driving capabilities.
