Eight-seater Mahindra Marazzo MPV spotted while testing in camouflage

The upcoming Mahindra Marazzo MPV has been spotted testing in camouflage in its eight-seater configuration. The MPV will be offered in two seating configurations, seven-seater and eight-seater, just like its main rival, the Toyota Innova Crysta . [caption id=“attachment_4864931” align=“alignnone” width=“1280”] Mahindra Marazzo front-grille.[/caption] The Mahindra Marazzo gets a shark-inspired design that can be seen in the streamlined and aerodynamic shape, in the overall silhouette and in the front grille inserts which resemble shark-like teeth and adds to the vehicle’s aggressive stance. Image: Rushlane[/caption] At a recent event which revealed the name of the MPV, so far known by its U321 internal codename, Mahindra officials stated that the Marazzo has been benchmarked against global standards of quality, technology, testing and validation norms, safety, regulations and emission. It underwent the most rigorous testing any Mahindra vehicle has ever been subjected to. It will be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility at Nasik, in Maharashtra and is gearing up for a commercial launch before the end of Q2 FY2019. A petrol engine might also be made available later in the car’s production run. The MPV will share its monocoque construction with the XUV500 and KUV100. Image: Rushlane[/caption] The interiors are expected to be feature loaded in a similar fashion to the XUV. It will be available in a 7-seater and 8-seater layout. Its dual-tone interior is expected to be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, piano black panelling and a new steering wheel. The U231-codenamed MPV will be positioned as a value alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta and be priced above the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga . By positioning it as a value-alternative, Mahindra will expect this car can take some sales away from the segment leader.
