Apple is going all-in on US President Donald Trump’s vision for AI with a massive $500 billion investment plan over the next four years. The tech giant has revealed plans to create 20,000 new jobs in the US, build a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Texas, and significantly boost its support for domestic manufacturing and research.

This bold move follows Apple CEO Tim Cook’s recent meeting at the White House, where he shared the company’s vision for strengthening US technological capabilities.

The investment will not only bolster Apple’s own Apple Intelligence server farms but also contribute to the broader American AI and manufacturing landscape. Cook expressed Apple’s enthusiasm for contributing to the country’s future, highlighting the company’s commitment to expanding its support for American innovation and technology development.

Building in Texas and Beyond

A major highlight of Apple’s ambitious plan is the construction of a new advanced manufacturing facility in Houston. This site will focus on producing servers for Apple Intelligence, which were previously manufactured abroad. By bringing this production home, Apple aims to enhance its Private Cloud Compute system while promoting domestic manufacturing.

The company is also doubling its US Advanced Manufacturing Fund to a hefty $10 billion. This increase will support various initiatives, including a substantial investment in TSMC’s Fab 21 plant in Arizona. Apple is determined to nurture American manufacturing skills and infrastructure, contributing to the country’s technological prowess.

Expanding Research and Development

Apple’s investment plan goes beyond manufacturing. The company has announced plans to significantly boost research and development (R&D) efforts across the US. Although specific details remain under wraps, Apple indicated a focus on advanced fields such as silicon engineering.

This R&D expansion is expected to lead to the hiring of thousands of professionals, with roles spanning software development, AI, and innovative technologies. By attracting talent and enhancing research capabilities, Apple aims to keep the US at the forefront of global technological advancements.

Investing in American Talent

To complement its infrastructure investments, Apple is setting up a manufacturing academy in Michigan. This initiative is part of Apple’s broader strategy to develop local talent and equip American workers with the skills needed for future technologies. The company’s multi-billion dollar commitment to skills development includes educational programmes and training that align with the evolving demands of the tech industry.

Apple’s strategic investment is more than just a boost for the company — it’s a significant contribution to the US economy. By fostering talent, enhancing research, and promoting manufacturing, Apple is positioning itself as a key player in driving American innovation forward.
