Apple has been having a tough time across their product range for not taking the foldable route in time and is now forced to play catch-up. Now though, it seems they are planning to go all out on foldables and launch two major product lines, one of which will be a first for the tech industry. Unless of course, someone beats them to it.

A recent report by 9to5Mac, that quotes Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu has revealed that Apple is intensifying its efforts in the foldable device arena.

According to Pu’s report, Apple is slated to start mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable device by late 2025, with a foldable iPhone following suit by late 2026.

This revelation aligns with previous speculations from industry insiders. Ming-Chi Kuo had hinted at Apple’s development of a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook, anticipated for a 2027 release.

Additionally, Ross Young had reported on Apple’s progress in crafting a 20-inch foldable hybrid device, expected to hit the market by 2026 or 2027. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had also hinted at Apple’s exploration of a dual-screen, foldable MacBook-iPad hybrid.

Pu’s note indicates an apparent acceleration in Apple’s foldable device endeavours, supported by insights gathered from the supply chain. The analyst suggests that these foldable gadgets would cater to the “ultra-high-end market,” potentially marking a new product lineup for Apple.

In terms of specifications, Apple is reportedly contemplating two screen sizes for the foldable iPhone: 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches. The 20.3-inch foldable device, as per Pu’s report, is slated to enter mass production by late 2025, paving the way for the subsequent launch of the foldable iPhone in late 2026.

While Pu’s insights offer an intriguing glimpse into Apple’s future ventures, it’s essential to approach this information with caution.

The aggressive timeline outlined in the report has yet to be corroborated by other sources. Therefore, it’s prudent to maintain a degree of scepticism until further validation emerges.

Nevertheless, the prospect of Apple venturing into foldable devices sparks curiosity and imagination regarding the potential implications for the tech giant’s product ecosystem.

As the landscape of mobile technology continues to evolve, the possibility of Apple embracing foldable designs opens up exciting possibilities for consumers and enthusiasts alike.
