The front-facing camera on the iPad Pro is moving to the landscape side of the tablet, similar to the iPad Air.

Additionally, the back-facing camera is receiving some upgrades. These include a 12MP camera, that supports Smart HDR 4, and a Lidar sensor.

New iPad Pro jumps from M2 to M4 SoCs. AI features are abundant.

Built on second-gen 3nm technology.

The new iPad Pro comes with two OLED Panels, combining them for better visibility, called Tandem OLED. 1000 nits HDR content, and 1600 nits of peak HDR.

Two new sizes: 11-inch, and 13-inch iPad Pro.

Also new is the position of the front-facing camera.

And so, it begins. Apple has started the live stream for the ‘Let loose’ event. The film is being live-streamed from Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Both iPad Pro models will cost more this time around. There are various reports on how much the prices might go up, but you should prepare for at least a $100 increase from the current starting prices, possibly even more.

And don’t forget, if you opt for a new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, they are set to close even more this year around.

Both iPad Pros are also predicted to become thinner, with the larger model getting about 20% slimmer and the smaller one about 15% thinner. These changes are mainly because OLED displays need smaller components.

A thinner body might mean less space for the battery, but any decrease in battery capacity should be balanced out by potential efficiency improvements from the OLED display.

Traditionally, iPad Pro chips have been more powerful than what the device really needs, especially considering the limitations of iPadOS compared to macOS. However, this “problem” actually has its perks, making the iPad more ready for the future than some other Apple products. Having said that, Apple would have loved to set the stage for the M4 chip at WWDC, so there is a good chance that we won’t get to see Apple’s next SoC today.

Whether Apple decides to surprise everyone and introduces the M4 chip on the iPad first, or they go with the more expected move of using an M3 chip in these devices, one thing is certain: the iPad Pro is getting a new and better chip.

We’re anticipating two versions of the iPad Pro. Both the brand-new 12.9-inch and 11-inch models are coming after a few years of smaller updates to the iPad Pro lineup. All signs point to these 2024 models being really exciting and giving us plenty of reasons to get hyped up.
