Tech companies and home appliance makers are really pushing the envelope in a bid to integrate AI into our lives. After AI in smartphones and laptops, we now have AI-powered home appliances like refrigerators, ACs, microwaves and washing machines.
Samsung has unveiled its latest line-up of home appliances that come integrated with artificial intelligence.
The South Korean giant showcased a series of innovative home appliances designed to enhance user experience and foster smart living. Among the unveiled products are a refrigerator equipped with AI vision capabilities capable of recognizing over 30 food items and suggesting recipes, an air conditioner featuring remote operation facilitated by geo-fencing technology, a microwave tailored for cooking diet-friendly meals, and a washing machine capable of learning users’ laundry habits and autonomously adjusting its cycles.
These cutting-edge appliances are equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, smart cameras, and advanced chipsets, enabling seamless integration into smart home ecosystems. Users can conveniently monitor and control these devices through the SmartThings application, which offers additional functionalities such as recommending filter replacements and facilitating professional maintenance services.
Samsung’s Bespoke AI appliances are powered by the Bixby AI voice assistant and are also compatible with other voice assistants, further enhancing user accessibility and convenience.
Moreover, Samsung highlighted the energy-saving capabilities of its AI-infused appliances, with the AI Energy Mode promising up to 10 per cent energy savings in refrigerators, up to 20 per cent in air conditioners, and up to 70 per cent in washing machines.
