Ahead of the event, US retailer Best Buy has already started taking pre-orders for the 16GB and the 32GB variants of the new Nexus 7 and has also released full-resolution press shots for the tablet.

Google is all set to host a special event with Android and Chrome head Sundar Pichai where is will showcase the new Nexus 7, the next version of Android and a series of new Chromebooks. Ahead of the event, US retailer Best Buy has already started taking pre-orders for the 16GB and the 32GB variants of the new Nexus 7 and has also released full-resolution press photographs of the tablet. The 16GB version of the tablet is available for $229.29 on pre-order while the 32GB option is listed at $269.99. Best Buy has also put out all the specifications for the tablet. It has a full HD screen at 1920x1200 with High-definition LCD, 10-finger capacitive touch screen with IPS technology, 178° viewing angles, anti-fingerprint technology and scratch-resistant glass. It comes with 2GB RAM, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 processor with Adreno 320 graphics. The rear camera’s resolution is 5 megapixel and it has a 1.2 megapixel front camera. The tablet also runs on the new Android 4.3 operating system and more about this will be revealed at Google’s event later today.
