Coronavirus Outbreak: Global smartphone shipments to fall 12 percent to 1.2 billion units in 2020, says IDC
In China, where the economy has begun to reopen and factories have resumed operations, IDC expects a single-digit decline in this year.
By 2023 the year-on-year growth for total smartphone shipments will increase to 1.7 percent.
According to the latest research from Counterpoint's Market Monitor service, smartphone shipments in India grew a healthy 15% annually in Q1 2017.
Over 347 million smartphones were shipped in the first quarter of 2017, higher by 4.3% from the same period last year, research firm IDC said.
China shipped 131.6 million smartphones in in the fourth quarter of 2016 with Huawei topping the list, followed by Oppo and Vivo, a new report said on Saturday.
