Shakti Mills gangrape case: Bombay HC to begin final hearing on 14 Jan; plea filed by three acussed against death sentence
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday fixed 14 January for a detailed hearing on petitions filed by three persons on death row for raping a photojournalist at Shakti Mills compound here in 2013.
Two more witnesses today deposed before a sessions court in connection with the gangrape of a 18-year-old telephone operator allegedly by five persons on the premises of Shakti Mill compound here on July 31.
The friend of the 18-year-old telephone operator who was allegedly gang-raped at the Shakti Mills compound on July 31 deposed before the court here today.
The fifth accused arrested in connection with the July 31 telephone operator gangrape case was today remanded in judicial custody till September 19.
Mumbai Police have recovered one more mobile phone that was carried by one of the accused at the time of the crime, a senior police official said today.
"She has been under treatment since last night. She underwent a minor surgical procedure today (Friday) and now her condition has improved and stabilized. We expect a speedy recovery," the Jaslok Hospital spokesperson said.
