Sensex rises as strong US data buoys IT stocks

Infosys rose 1.2 percent, having earlier come close to hitting a record high of Rs 3,573 last hit on 20 December, after the Wall Street hit a new peak on strong data from the holiday shopping season and a fall in initial jobless claims.

Sensex closes at two-and-half year high; investors richer by Rs 40K cr

Investors today became richer by Rs 40,000 crore with market capitalisation standing at Rs 66.32 lakh crore as around 1,150 stocks gained on the BSE on good buying.<br /><br />
