The nephew of former Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal is among those seeking bail.
Former Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was today given a clean chit by the CBI in the Rs 10 crore cash-for-post Railway bribery scandal in which the agency filed charge sheet against his nephew Vijay Singla and suspended Board Member Mahesh Kumar along with eight others for graft and other charges.
The agency has concluded its investigation in the case and has sent its file to the Directorate of Prosecution seeking legal opinion on the evidence gathered and charges levelled against the accused, sources said.
Daga was arrested by CBI on 19 May after the court had on 16 May issued a non-bailable warrant against him.
As the scandal put a big question mark on the future of Railway Minister P K Bansal, CBI sources said today that over 1,000 phone calls were intercepted during the two-month long surveillance on arrested member of Railway Board Mahesh Kumar and Bansal's nephew Vijay Singla.
