India begins 28-hour countdown to launch its 100th PSLV on 12 Jan: 28 satellites from six countries to debut alongside

India began countdown early Thursday for launching 31 satellites in a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) from its spaceport in Sriharikota

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) will also be ISRO's 40th space mission. The total weight of all the 31 satellites will be about 1,323 kg.

PSLV-C40 will be used for the launch from the spaceport in Sriharikota, about 100 kilometres from Chennai.

The total number of customer satellites from abroad placed in orbit by PSLV so far is 209, according to ISRO.
