Facebook deleted Salman Rushdie's original account and made him use 'Ahmed Rushdie'. An outraged Rushdie took to Twitter to bring back the first name debate that Google and Facebook insist on sticking to.

Just like Twitter has its verification program for celebrities, public figures and in general, famous people, Google+ has rolled out a similar badge system.
