BJP MLA from Punjab Navjot Kaur Sidhu on Saturday resigned from the primary membership of the party, less than a month after her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu had also done so.
Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has "very close links" with radical organisations and also termed the recent incident of party MP Bhagwant Mann uploading Parliament's security set up on social media as a "very serious lapse".
Navjot Singh Sidhu's impeccable anti-Badal credentials and unequivocal stand on Punjab's drug menace would make him a formidable adversary for the ruling combine in Punjab.
"I have not resigned from BJP" but it's understood that Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned, Navjot Kaur Sidhu said. Quelling rumours and doubts, she added, "When he has resigned from Rajya Sabha, it only has one meaning that he has resigned from BJP as well."

Singh had reportedly urged Sidhu not to make any major political decisions without careful consultation with the BJP.
