The 37-year-old Santosh, who was representing the two-wheeler manufacturing giant in one of the world's biggest rallies, suffered a crash last Wednesday and was airlifted to a hospital in Jeddah.

A hand injury prevented Indian racing ace C Santosh going full throttle while Paulo Goncalves finished 12th as Hero MotoSports Team Rally just about managed to negotiate safely the second stage of Dakar Rally.
Santosh managed to finish the difficult stage at the 44th position, which put him at the 40th position overall.
