India hopes further improvement in Global Innovation Index 2019 ranking, aims to break into top 25 list
India is hopeful of further improving its ranking in an index of the world's most innovative economies, to be released on Wednesday, from the current 57th, a top government official said on Tuesday
Last year, India climbed up the innovation ladder to reach 66th position from 81st in 2015 - an improvement after 5 years of continuous drop in its ranking.
Switzerland remains the world’s most innovative country while India, Kenya, and Viet Nam are outperforming their development-level peers, the latest data from the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2017 shows.
The task force will assess India's position as an innovative country and suggest measures to enhance the innovation ecosystem in the country
Overall, India leapt 14 places from the 85th rank last year to the 61st in the latest Global Innovation Index
