Govt okays subsidy rates for P&K fertilisers for FY21; estimates outgo at over Rs 22,000 cr
•The government on Wednesday approved nutrient-based subsidy rates for phosphatic and potassic (P&K) fertilisers for the current financial year with an estimated burden of Rs 22,186 crore on the central exchequer

•Farmers in Mungeshpur village in Delhi are using toxic water coming from drain for growing vegetables due to lack of groundwater for farming. Dinesh, a resident of Qutubgarh, pointed out that cases of cancer in the area have witnessed a seven-fold increase in the last ten years. Villagers have also appealed to the government for assistance so that they can shun the practice of using toxic water for farming.
