Battle over Hindi: Mamata renames Centre's welfare schemes, govt denies imposing language
Fppolitics • .The Centre's recent decision to make Hindi compulsory up to Class 10 in CBSE schools and in state-run Kendriya Vidyalayas combined with President Pranab Mukherjee accepting the recommendation of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language (CPOL) that all dignitaries including the president and ministers, especially those who can read and speak Hindi, may be requested to give their speech/statement in Hindi only, seems to have caused a stir in the North East.
