Cauvery dispute: Karnataka to challenge Supervisory Committee's 'disappointing' decision

Terming the Cauvery Supervisory Committee order to release 3,000 cusecs of water a day to Tamil Nadu between 21 September and 30 September as "disappointing" and a "blow", Karnataka government on Monday said it would challenge the decision in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

In an interim order on 5 September, the court directed Karnataka to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water per day to Tamil Nadu for the next 10 days to ameliorate plight of the farmers there.
