Search teams lift tail of crashed AirAsia plane from seabed

The development comes a day after "pings" believed to have come from the ill-fated jet's black box were detected and efforts to retrieve the tail section - where the black box is located - were stepped up.

AirAsia's missing plane is fairly new, had recorded 23,000 flight hours

The AirAsia plane that went missing on Sunday is young by commercial aircraft standards. It has also worked hard and lacks real time engine diagnostics.
