Budget Session updates: Lok Sabha adjourned for the day; Rajya Sabha to reconvene at 3.30 pm

Both Houses of Parliament saw adjournments on the first day of the second-half of budget session, with opposition members seeking to corner the government on a range of issues, including the multi-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud, demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh and demand for increasing quota beyond 50 percent in Telangana.

Kerala govt wants Centre to consult it before inking RCEP treaty

The CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala on Wednesday wanted the Centre to consult it before signing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, saying it would have adverse impact on the agriculture sector in the state.
