Yuvraj to play in Duleep Trophy to impress selectors

After performing fairly well at the World T20 in Sri Lanka, Yuvraj Singh is ready to play in North Zone's Duleep Trophy semi-final against Central Zone starting on 14th October.

An Indian Express report says that Virat Kohli will sit out the fixture after asking the board for permission to go on a short holiday. Yuvraj is part of three changes made apart from Rahul Sharma and Mandeep Singh, who are both returning from India A's tour to New Zealand.

More than what he did with the bat, Yuvraj did exceptionally well with the ball at the WT20 and finished as India's joint highest wicket-taker. This means that he could fit well in the Test team as an all-rounder.

If North Zone reaches the Duleep final, Yuvraj will have four matches and a couple of round of Ranji games to make an impression on the selectors before the team which will play England in the Test series is announced.
