Yet Another T20 League: Dean Jones set to announce Masters Champions League in UAE

Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones has just released a teaser disclosing some key information regarding the Masters Champions League. GM Sports in association with Jones’ company Major Events will organise the league in the UAE for the next 10 years.

It’s the era of T20 leagues - the Big Bash League, the Caribbean Premier League, the NatWest T20 Blast and the big daddy of them all, the Indian Premier League. As if these were not enough, we are about get a T20 League for retired players as well: The Masters Champions League. Getty[/caption] Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones has just released a teaser disclosing some key information regarding the Masters Champions league. GM Sports, in association with Jones’ company, Major Events, will organise the league. “This iconic tournament will be organized and played in the UAE for the next 10 years. Based on the T20 format, this will bring together some of the greatest iconic names that the game has ever seen,” Jones says in the video. Full details of the League will be officially announced today at 11:00 am UAE time the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. This announcement comes shortly after reports that cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne are set to launch a new T20 league for former international cricketers over a three-and-a-half-year period, with the United States to host the first series in September.
