This is so much fun now. After Liren plays Qc4, Gukesh goes black Qd6 to stop the white Queen from causing any damage. Liren responds with e4 as Gukesh goes Re5 but Liren captures Pawn on f5. Gukesh kills that pawn with Rxf5.

This is followed by Qxd5 and Rxd5, so both Queens are gone.

Liren took white Knight on c3 with Gukesh’s Bishop on e4 but the Indian GM opted to move Rook to d8 followed by Gukesh capturing the Knight on e4. Of course, Gukesh used his Queen to capture that Knight. The latest move has been h3 by Liren. The Queen in the middle by Gukesh has given the 18-year-old a strong position as it’s currently protecting a lot of other pieces.

World Chess Championship 2024 Game 4 Highlights: The World Chess Champions 2024 resumes today (29 November, Friday) with game four between D Gukesh and Ding Liren at the Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore. The World Chess Championship 2024 is currently tied at 1.5 points each after the first three games . The first match was won by Ding Liren with black pieces while the second ended in a draw . The 18-year-old chess sensation Gukesh bounced back in the third match with a victory with white pieces after Liren ran out of time. This was not only Gukesh’s first win in a World Chess Championship but also his first victory over Liren in classical format.

The World Chess Championship 2024 was briefly halted on Thursday for a rest day as both Grandmasters recharged their batteries and the competition will resume on 29 November with Game 4 . Having secured his first win, Gukesh must be bustling with confidence and will be aiming to secure a win in Game 4 and take a significant lead over Ding. Remember, the first player to reach 7.5 points will win the World Chess Championship 2024.

Liren is the reigning chess world champion, having beaten Russia’s Ian Nepomniachtchi in the World Chess Championship 2023. He had been in poor form going into the World Chess Championship 2024. His last win had come in January 2024 but the victory in Game 1 has given him a new lease of life.

Gukesh, meanwhile, is aiming to become the youngest world chess champion ever.

World Chess Championship 2024 Game 4 Details

The Game 4 between Ding Liren and D Gukesh will take place from 2.30 PM IST at the Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore on 29 November (Friday).
