Leave it to Novak Djokovic to engage in some sort of good-natured post-match goofiness on court at the U.S. Open.
Not for the first time under the lights at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, the man nicknamed “Djoker” took it upon himself to provide the night’s entertainment. Djokovic has entertained spectators in the past with his impersonations on the court of fellow players - famously Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal.
This time, after a second-round victory that ended shortly before midnight on Day 3 of the US Open, Djokovic marked his victory by performing what seemed like the Gangnam Style step, with a burly fan who presented the player with a matching ‘I Love NY’ T-shirt. Once the jig was done, the fan got a warm embrace from the World No. 1 - something that he’d undoubtedly remember for the rest of his life.
Djokovic’s performance also brought enthusiastic applause from Hollywood A-lister Jamie Foxx, the star of “Ray” and “Django Unchained,” who was sitting just behind Djokovic’s coach Boris Becker in the players box on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
