Watch: Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine's slam dunk that got the internet talking

So he’s not the best known face in the NBA presently but if you saw his spectacular dunk in the 2015 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine would be on your watchlist for this year.

In what must easily be one of the most impressive slam dunks of all time, LaVine manages one of the most difficult slam dunks with relative ease in what is being called the ‘Space Jam’ dunk.

Why Space Jam? Because he came on wearing a replica of the jersey worn by legend Michael Jordan in the super hit Space Jam. And while he didn’t have a hand that stretched for half the length of a basketball court, it was even more impressive given he didn’t have any special effects to aid him.

LaVine has also said he’s willing to take on LeBron James in a dunk competition, because well, he’s confident.

“LeBron’s one of the most freaky athletes of all time, so I don’t know. But like I said, I’m a confident person. I never go against my own talents, so I gotta say me,” he was quoted as saying in a report.

James it turns out has never participated in a dunk contest despite the insane ones he’s managed to pull off on court. Maybe LaVine will get his chance to prove his skills to the superstar when they face off this year.
