It seems as if the Legends T20 League - a brainchild of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne - is gathering steam. Warne has booked three of the most famous baseball grounds in USA - Wrigley Field in Chicago, the Yankee Stadium in New York and the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles - as venues for the T20 league matches. The matches are likely to take place in November 2015, after the Major League Baseball season ends. [caption id=“attachment_2306680” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]

Getty[/caption] “We’re going to have Bollywood-theme nights and it’s all shaping up pretty well,” Warne told News Ltd. “Myself and Sachin had an idea - why not take cricket to America and be the Harlem Globetrotters, go around and do free exhibitions at schools … help grow the game of cricket (in a country where there are already) 45 teams in LA?” There were reports that Tendulkar and Warne have reportedly offered 28 former players contracts worth USD 25,000 a match for the proposed league. Brett Lee, Andrew Flintoff, Jacques Kallis, Adam Gilchrist, Glenn McGrath, Michael Vaughan, Sourav Ganguly, Mahela Jayawardene were among the former stars have been approached for the proposed league. Warne confirmed that they have signed 28 players. Under the reported proposal, a series of matches will be held around the world over a three-and-a-half-year period, with the US to host the first series in September. Earlier this month, Tendulkar and Warne met ICC Chief Executive Dave Richardson at the global body’s headquarters to discuss their idea.
