Note: The transfer window has officially shut, but that doesn’t mean player movement cannot happen. Sometimes clubs have finished formalities but announce deals after the window has closed. Mesut Ozil is a Gunner and Arsenal have paid a record £42.4m to land the attacking midfielder. “It will be great for my own personal development as a player and I am particularly looking forward to working with Arsene Wenger,” Ozil told Arsenal.com. “I have said throughout the summer that we have been working hard to bring in top quality players to this football club. Mesut is a top quality footballer who will be a fantastic addition to our talented squad. We are all looking forward to him joining up with us after his international matches with Germany and working with us as an Arsenal player,” said Arsene Wenger. Reuters[/caption] Aston Villa pay around £7 million for new striker: Libor Kozak has signed for the Villains from Lazio, and will certainly take off some scoring pressure from Christian Benteke (who has been on fire for the club). Arsenal sign Viviano: Palermo’s goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has signed for Arsenal on a year-long loan deal, with an option to buy at end of season. Should get a chance in the cup games at least. - “I want to learn off Ronaldo. He’s the boss”, says Bale. He also said he’d have moved to Madrid for ‘a penny’. Man City sign Demichelis: City, who have been plagued with defensive frailties in their opening matches, have signed Argentine centre-back Martin Demichelis from Atletico Madrid. More detail here . Liverpool complete Moses signing: Liverpool have signed Moses on a one-year loan deal, and the 22-year-old will give much needed width to the Anfield side. AP[/caption] Gareth Bale has been unveiled at Santiago Bernabeu, where he told thousands of fans: “I just want to say that it is amazing to be here. It is a dream to be here in Madrid.’ Thank you for this welcome.’ I hope I can help bring success to the club and that we can win the club’s 10th European Cup.” Arsenal about to sign Ozil, Demba Ba Arsenal are about to close a £42 million deal for Mesut Ozil. The 24-year-old playmaker will add a lot of spice to a lackluster Arsenal attack and fits their playing style. The Gunners are also looking at a one-year loan deal for Demba Ba. Kaka moves to AC Milan: Brazilian Kaka has completed his return to AC Milan after a troubled spell at Real Madrid. The playmaker had cost Real £56m but failed to live up to the billing and has preferred a return to Italy rather than England. We have a more detailed report here .
Liverpool bolster defence with Sakho and Ilori: 23-year-old Sakho is a France international, having played 14 times for his country since making his debut against England in 2010, while 20-year-old Ilori has played for Portugal at age-group level. The deal is for a combined £25 million. The pair have lifted the number of defenders signed by Brendan Rodgers during the transfer window to four. Click here for a full report. 1 September - Bale becomes world’s most expensive player Gareth Bale is officially the world’s most expensive player after his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid for £85 million was confirmed. The move brings an end to a trasnfer saga which has gone on throughout summer. Click here for a detailed report. Via @realmadrid Twitter account.[/caption] 30 August - Spurs add Lamela and Eriksen Tottenham have added Roma’s Erik Lamela and Ajax’s Christian Eriksen to their list of signings this season. Argentinian Lamela, according to some reports is worth more than striker Roberto Soldado which means he would be Spurs’ record signing. Eriksen comes in for £11.5 million and is a highly rated attacking midfielder. Click here for a more detailed report. 29th August - Chelsea sign Eto’o; Flamini returns to Arsenal Arsenal have finally landed a midfielder — proven fan favourite Mathieu Flamini and Chelsea have got a striker in the form of Samuel Eto’o from Anzhi on a free. The Eto'o signing may well mean Chelsea have ended their interest in Wayne Rooney. Meanwhile Flamini’s return will certainly lift the gloom at Arsenal — whose fans have demanded a signing since the end of last season. 28th August - Willian completes move to Chelsea Chelsea have successfully hijacked Spurs’ approach for Willian. According to reports, a phone-call from Roman Abramovich quickly changed Spurs’ fortunes. They were front-runners in signing their man, but a timely bid and a quick contract negotiation means Willian will now play for the blue side of London. Getty Images[/caption] Click here to read more. 20th August - Liverpool borrow Cissokho till end of season Brendan Rodgers has sealed a one-year loan deal for Aly Cissokho from Valencia. Cissokho will add backup to their defence, mainly at left back. But the player can play a number of positions and will be a good utility player for Liverpool. 15th August - Spurs enforce midfield with Etienne Capoue Spurs’ spending continues with Capoue arriving from Toulouse. The midfielder signed for £9 million and joins the likes of Paulinho and Chadli at the club. They have also let Scott Parker leave the club for Fulham. 13th August - Liverpool let Downing go to West Ham Liverpool’s left-winger Stewart Downing has left the Reds for £5 million in a bid for more first team football. Downing, who arrived for about £20 million failed to really make a mark at Anfield. 5th August - Soldado’s seals big-money move to Spurs Roberto Soldado passed his medical and agreed personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur — and becomes their record signing for £26 million. He is now expected to make his debut for Spurs in a pre-season match at home to Espanyol on Saturday. Soldado, who scored 30 goals in 46 appearances for Valencia last season and has been on target six times in 11 matches for Spain, joins fellow new recruits Paulinho and Nacer Chadli at Spurs. (Reuters) Click here for a detailed report. 3rd August - Spurs attacker Dempsey makes surprise move to Seattle Sounders Clint Dempsey, the versatile Spurs forward who scored 12 times in his time at White Hart Lane, has decided to leave for his native country and help energise the MLS. Dempsey, 30, completed a £6 million move to Seattle and said: “Having recently played in Seattle with the national team, I experienced the incredible atmosphere and the passion from the supporters first-hand. It’s going to be an honour to represent the fans in Seattle.” 31st July - Cardiff complete record Caulker signing Stephen Caulker, who impressively broke into the Spurs first team last season, has completed his £8 million move to newly promoted EPL club Cardiff City. He will add much needed quality at the back for the Welsh team, whose main aim will be to stay up this season. 27th July - Higuain signs for Napoli Higuain has completed his move from Real Madrid to Napoli for £34.5 million. The Argentine striker scored 107 league goals in his seven seasons at the Bernabeu and was reportedly close to signing for Arsenal. But Rafael Benitez quickly moved to get his man after the sale of star striker Edinson Cavani to PSG. “We have signed a player who comes from Real Madrid and we have signed a striker who has scored a hatful of goals and who will adapt very well to our system - an attacking system. We needed a player like this,” said Benitez. 20th July - Arsenal let Andre Santos leave Andre Santos, who failed to establish himself in Arsenal’s first team since joining from Fenerbahce in 2011, has decided to head back home to Flamengo. He was pushed further down the pecking order at Arsenal after the Gunners signed Nacho Monreal and spent part of last season on loan at Gremio. 19th July - Teenager Marquinhos joins PSG for £27 million, Man City spend £22 million on Jovetic - PSG have gone gung-ho in making sure their targets join the club. The 19-year-old impressed in his time at Roma and comes a couple days after the signing of Edinson Cavani for £55 million. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “It underlines the club’s desire to look towards the future to construct one of Europe’s biggest clubs.” [caption id=“attachment_974949” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Cavani in action for Uruguay. Getty Images[/caption] - Meanwhile, Fiorentina’s star forward Stevan Jovetic has swapped purple for sky blue. New Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini has decided to spend on the 23-year-old, with big things expected from him ever since he broke into the Fiorentina first team. 18th July - Malouda leaves Chelsea, Maicon leaves Man City Florent Malouda has left Chelsea for free to sign with Turkish club Trabzonspor and right back Maicon has signed for Roma for an undisclosed fee. Malouda had been training with Chelsea’s youth side and was frozen out of the the first team last season. 16th July - PSG break the bank to sign Cavani Edinson Cavani has left a host of clubs disappointed after choosing to move to PSG. The Uruguayan forward, who scored 78 league goals in three seasons with Napoli, moved to Paris Saint-Germain in a blockbuster deal worth around £55 million. PSG have spent more close to £175 million on transfers over the past two years to secure the services of top internationals such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. Click here to read a detailed report. 14th July - Thiago ready to swap Barca for Bayern Bayern Munich secured the transfer of midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona on Sunday, reuniting him with coach Pep Guardiola. Barcelona said that Bayern had agreed to pay the Spanish club 25 million euros for Thiago. The deal also included an agreement to play a friendly match between the two clubs at some point in the next four years. Bayern said that Thiago would sign a four-year contract and that the cost to the German club would only reach €20 million, with proceeds from the friendly and an agreement by Thiago to forego personal payments making up the difference. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the 22-year-old Thiago “was the great wish of our new coach, Pep Guardiola.” (AP) Click here for a detailed report. 12th July - Real spend big on Spain U-21 star Asier Illarramendi - Real Madrid signed holding midfielder Asier Illarramendi from Real Sociedad on Friday as it intensified its efforts to capture Spain’s latest generation of talent. Sociedad club president Jokin Aperribay said Madrid paid Illarramendi’s buyout clause worth 32 million euros ($42 million) plus another 6 million euros ($8 million) in taxes to secure his release. “I had to think about it a lot, but we arrived to the conclusion that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said a tearful Illarramendi. “It was a difficult decision, but (the offer) was impossible to turn down.” (Reuters) Click here for a full report. - Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama has joined English football club Southampton on a four-year deal worth 12.5 million pounds. The 22-year-old Kenyan international was a big hit in Scotland and was being monitored by numerous Premier League clubs. The Saints, though, won the race and unveiled the player at St. Mary’s stadium Thursday. (IANS) A more detailed report, here . 11th July - Everton loan Barca starlet, Swansea sign Bony, Atletico sign Demichelis - Swansea broke their club transfer record to sign Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony. The 24-year-old was top scorer in the Dutch League last season with 31 goals and his arrival is a big statement of intent for the Welsh club, who will play in the Europa League this season after winning the League Cup, their first major honour. Click here to read a more detailed report. - Atletico Madrid has reinforced its already solid defense by signing Martin Demichelis to a one-year contract. He arrives just days after Atletico signed Spain striker David Villa to replace Radamel Falcao. The 32-year-old Demichelis, an Argentine international, spent the past 2 ½ seasons with Malaga, helping the team qualify for the Champions League for the first time where it reached the quarterfinals last campaign. (AP) - Everton have agree to take Barcelona’s teenage forward Gerard Deulofeu, described as “an incredible footballing talent” by manager Roberto Martinez, on loan next season, the Premier League club said on Wednesday. The pacy 19-year-old, a product of Barca’s youth academy and a Spain under-20 international, played mostly for the La Liga side’s B team last term and scored 18 goals in 34 matches. (Reuters) Click here to read more. 10th July - Chelsea swoop for 40-year-old Schwarzer Chelsea have signed Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer on a free transfer until the end of next year’s World Cup in Brazil. Schwarzer, 40, has played more than 15 years in England with Bradford City, Middlesbrough and Fulham. Last season he became the first overseas player to complete 500 Premier League appearances. “It’s a phenomenal club,” Schwarzer told the Chelsea website on Tuesday. “It’s one of the biggest and best clubs in the world and it’s an honour to sign for Chelsea. I didn’t take much convincing to come here.” (Reuters) 9th July - Dortmund sign highly rated Mkhitaryan Champions League finalist Borussia Dortmund have signed Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk on a four-year deal, confirmed the Ukrainian football club on Tuesday. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who scored a record 25 goals in the Ukrainian Premier League last season, will join the German club for 27.5 million euros, reports Xinhua. (IANS) Click here for the detailed report. 8th July - David Villa set for Atletico Madrid; Fiorentina set to sign Gomez Barcelona have reached an agreement to sell Spain striker David Villa to Atletico Madrid, the Spanish champions said in a statement on Monday. The 31-year-old is Spain’s all-time leading scorer and will move for a fee of up to 5.1 million euros with Barca reserving 50 percent of the rights over any future transfer. In other major transfer news, Mario Gomez will leave Bayern Munich and join Serie A’s Fiorentina for next season, ending four years at the Bavarian club during which he scored goals at a prolific rate, won titles and yet ended up losing his first-team place. Treble-winning Bayern confirmed that the clubs had agreed terms for the 28-year-old Germany international. “It was Mario Gomez’s wish to leave Bayern Munich for Fiorentina,” said Bayern’s chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The move will re-unite him with his former Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez. 5th July - West Bromwich sign journeyman Anelka Former France striker Nicolas Anelka has joined West Bromwich Albion after passing a medical, the English Premier League club said on Thursday. A statement on the club website said the 34-year-old had signed a one-year contract with a further year’s option in the club’s favour. Anelka, who has played for Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bolton and Chelsea, was a free agent after ending his loan spell with Juventus at the end of last season. He won league and FA Cup doubles with Arsenal and Chelsea and national titles with Fenerbahce in Turkey and Juventus. (Reuters) Read more here . 4th July - Chelsea agree Van Ginkel deal Chelsea have agreed to sign midfielder Marco van Ginkel from Vitesse Arnhem, the Premier League club said on Thursday. The 20-year-old, who came up through the youth ranks at Vitesse before making his debut in April 2010, will join Chelsea subject to a medical. Van Ginkel has played for the Netherlands under-21 side and has one senior cap, coming on as a substitute against Germany last November. He will become Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s second signing following the arrival of Germany forward Andre Schuerrle from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen last month. (Reuters) 3rd July Swansea City splashed out five million pounds to prise hard-working midfielder Jonjo Shelvey away from Premier League rivals Liverpool on Wednesday. The Welsh club said on their website that Shelvey, who spent three years at Liverpool and made 32 appearances under Brendan Rodgers last season, had signed a four-year deal at the Liberty Stadium. His domestic and European form earned a first England cap as a second-half substitute in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino at Wembley last October. The 21-year-old is League Cup winners Swansea’s fifth close-season signing following Spanish trio Jordi Amat, Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo along with Jonathan de Guzman - who has returned on loan. (Reuters) 1st July - Juventus snap up Llorente and Tevez After signing Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and presenting him with Alessandro del Piero’s former No 10 shirt, Juventus have moved for Fernando Llorente. The 28-year-old Llorente scored 85 goals from 262 Liga games over eight seasons with Spanish club Athletic Bilbao. Llorente was one of the most wanted strikers at the end of the 2011-12 season, when he scored 29 goals in all competitions. The best part is that Llorente will come as a free transfer. 27 June - Real Madrid sign Isco Real Madrid has signed Malaga midfielder Francisco “Isco” Alarcon, one of Europe’s most prized young players. Madrid said on its website on Thursday that the 21-year-old Isco agreed to a five-year contract. “It’s a great opportunity that is always in your head, and if I do things well here, I might have an opportunity to be in Brazil,” Isco, who will wear the number 23 shirt, said during his unveiling. (Reuters) 26 June - Liverpool sign Mignolet, Aspas Liverpool have signed Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet from fellow Premier League side Sunderland for a reported fee of 9 million pounds ($13.9 million). Liverpool says the 25-year-old Mignolet has “penned a long-term contract” after a brilliant year last season in which he was one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers. The signing clouds the future of Liverpool’s current first-choice goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona. Earlier, the club agreed a deal to sign Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas. Aspas, who was Celta’s top scorer last season with 12 goals in 34 La Liga games, helped set up the winner as they stayed up on the final day thanks to a 1-0 home victory over Espanyol. (Agencies) 25 June - Chelsea sign Schuerrle from Leverkusen Germany forward Andre Schuerrle has completed his move to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal, becoming Jose Mourinho’s first signing since returning to the English Premier League club. The clubs agreed to the deal on June 13 but Schuerrle still needed to sort out personal terms and pass a medical examination. The 22-year-old Schuerrle says on Tuesday “I am so happy now I have signed and it is an honor for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans.” (Reuters) 19 June - West Ham sign Liverpool’s Andy Carroll Liverpool took a huge financial hit on Andy Carroll on Wednesday by selling the towering England striker to fellow Premier League side West Ham, ending his disappointing 2 ½-year spell at Anfield. Carroll joined Liverpool from Newcastle on deadline day in January 2011 for a staggering 35 million pounds (then $56 million), making him Britain’s most expensive footballer, but he struggled under the weight of expectation and didn’t fit into the club’s style of play. The striker moved to West Ham on a season-long loan last year, scoring seven goals in 24 league games and, and has completed a permanent switch to Upton Park on a six-year deal. (AP) 27 May - Barcelona sign Neymar Brazil striker Neymar completed his move from Santos to Barcelona for £48.6m. The 21-year-old, who agreed to join the Spanish champions in May, passed his medical and signed a five-year deal. He said: “Money is OK but happiness takes priority. We decided to come to Barcelona. I had a lot of offers but I followed my heart.”
