Sania Mirza shares one-word Instagram post just days after announcing divorce with Shoaib Malik

Sani Mirza on Thursday shared her first post on Instagram since announcing her divorce with former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik. The Indian tennis legend shared a picture of herself looking into the mirror and she captioned the picture: “Reflect”. While there have been rumours that Sania and Shoaib had parted aways, it was only confirmed after the Pakistan cricketer shared pictures of his wedding with actor Sana Javed on social media platforms on 20 January. After Shoaib made his new marriage public, Sania’s team released a statement the next day, informing the media that duo had been separated for a few months .

“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,” the statement read. Sania had got married to Shaib in 2010 and they have a five-year-old son Izaan, who currently lives with the Indian tennis ace. Sania in a recent Instagram post had also talked about her person struggles. “Marriage is hard, Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard, Choose your hard. being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard,” she said in an Instagram story. “Communication is hard. No communicating is hard. Life will never be easy. I will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely.”
