Novak Djokovic has made a big revelation on his availability for the 2025 Qatar Open, stating that he has recovered “almost 100 per cent” from his muscle tear injury on his left leg. Djokovic had sustained the injury during his Australian Open quarter-final win over Carlos Alcaraz in January and withdrew from his semi-final match against Alexander Zverev after losing the first set.

Djokovic eventually missed training for two straight days due to the injury after his win over Alcaraz, and his struggles were evident after he lost the first set in the semi-final to Zverev 6-7 (5-7).

‘I have the green light from medical team to train’: Djokovic

“There’s no longer any muscle tear. The injury is almost 100 per cent healed and I’m ready to go for more victories,” Djokovic told Vijesti, a Montenegro-based newspaper.

He said that he has got approval from the medical team to resume training ahead of the Qatar Open, which runs from 17 February to 22 February in Doha.

“I have the green light from the medical team to train, to prepare. The Doha tournament is in seven days’ time, and I’m sticking to my schedule,” added the former World No 1. Djokovic was thankful to the Almighty but enable him recover in time for the Qatar Open.

“Thank God I managed to recover quickly. I’ve had a few more injuries recently compared to the first 15 years of my career. It probably comes with age, but my body is still serving me well and I still have the flame and desire,” stated the 24-time Grand Slam winner.

Should Djokovic win the Qatar Open, the 37-year-old will join the legendary Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer on 100 ATP titles. Although the Serb has been chasing the milestone for a while, he is not thinking too far ahead. “I’ve been chasing it (100th ATP title) for a while, since last October. But we’ll see, it’ll come when it comes,” he said.
